The United Palace hosted a one-day, pop-up COVID vaccine center where 450 local grocery workers, cab drivers, and other essential workers received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
On April 2, Good Friday, the United Palace hosted a one-day, pop-up COVID vaccine center where 450 local grocery workers, cab drivers, and other essential workers received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The site was organized by the office of Congressmember Adriano Espaillat and New York State and administered by SOMOS Community Care.

There have been about 20 one-day vaccine sites held throughout Espaillat’s district, the most densely populated Congressional district in the county, which was particularly hard hit during the heights of the pandemic.

While the United Palace is not scheduled to be a pop-up site again, eligible Washington Heights residents can register for vaccines at the Fort Washington Avenue Armory  or find other locations through the state’s website.
