We never stopped working. As a New York City Landmark, maintaining and upgrading our historic building is at the core of our mission to serve the community. From shoring up the chimney on the roof, to refurbishing the vertical sign above the marquee, to restoring the proscenium above the stage, great pride and attention to detail go into caring for the 91-year-old United Palace. We are taking advantage of the last few months of the city’s lull before what we expect to be a busy fall season to complete a few large-scale projects. Some of the work is quite beautiful, bringing us up close to the ornate ceiling to get a seldom seen perspective.
