Nearly 3,000 people packed the Palace on Sunday, December 7 for the NYC premiere of our original production of "The Hip Hop Nutcracker." The dancing was electric, highlighted by spectacular lighting and beautiful digital scenery. Special guest MC Kurtis Blow got the party started with a set of greatest hits before the combo of DJ Boo and Filip Pogady on electric violin set the story in motion.
The show received so many appraisals and support from the community that we'e having an encore performance on Saturday, Dec 13 at 1pm. Tickets can be purchased here. But don't take our word about how much fun the show is. See what the audience had to say below:
The New York Times says The Hip Hop Nutcracker is “ magical” and "exciting." “Touches of poetry.” “A show with plenty of heart.” “A gift to Upper Manhattan.”
Led Black, Editor-in-Chief of the Uptown Collective: "I am still in awe of what I witnessed last night, right here in Washington Heights, at the venerable United Palace. The Hip-Hop Nutcracker was quite simply fantastic. The New York City debut of the show exceeded all of my expectations.
